An avid midcentury collector for 30 years, Swanky has produced and organized numerous Tiki events, lectures and carving seminars across the country in an effort to help spur the resurgence of Polynesian Pop Culture. Swanky also writes for Tiki Magazine, created the Grogalizer website to help you manage the cocktail books of Beachbum Berry, was named “Best Mixologist” by Metropulse magazine in 2009 and is head bartender at the Hapa Haole Hideaway in Knoxville, TN. He is currently producing the officially licensed “Mai-Kai Memories Series” of custom Tiki bowls. As the co-creator and former organizer of The Hukilau™ event in Fort Lauderdale, he has worked closely with the Mai-Kai for many years. Now he has teamed up with them to share their tantalizing images, intriguing stories, the history of the people and the place in a forthcoming book.
