Dr. Gary L. Moss, OD, MBA, was an associate professor at The New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA until he retired and moved to Florida in 2006. He has been an active antiques & collectibles dealer-collector since 1974, currently exhibiting at over a dozen shows a year in FL, PA & MA. He is the former owner of Kenmore Cards, a sports memorabilia store 2 blocks from Fenway Park in Boston.
His book, Hippie Artifacts, was published in 2003 by Schiffer Publishing. In 2004, his three hundred 1930 & 1940’s vintage rayon Hawaiian shirts were on exhibit for 6 months at the American Textile History Museum in Lowell, MA. His collection also formed the basis of the book Hawaiian Shirts: Dress Right for Paradise published by Schiffer. He has lectured at the Floridiana, Baby Boomer & Retro Rama collector shows in St. Petersburg, FL on several occasions. Currently he teaches Epidemiology part timeat Santa Fe College in Gainesville.
